Guide · Bulk sheet generator

How the bulk sheet generator works

Build Sponsored Products campaigns in a simple form, check every row, then download one file that creates them all in Amazon Ads. This guide walks through each section of the tool and how to upload the result.

Building and previewing are free. Each download costs 1 credit.

The workflow at a glance

  1. 01

    Pick a marketplace

Currency, minimum bids and defaults adjust automatically.

  2. 02

    Add products

Paste ASINs (and SKUs) one per line.

  3. 03

    Set targeting

Auto, keywords, product targets, negatives and placements.

  4. 04

    Preview

See every row Amazon will receive before you pay.

  5. 05

    Download & upload

Upload the .xlsx in Ads console > Bulk operations.

One file can hold many campaigns. Use + New Campaign in the left panel to add more, and the stats bar to see how many campaigns, products, ad groups and rows you are about to create.

Step 1

Choose your marketplace

Use the marketplace menu in the top bar to set it for every campaign at once, or change it per campaign in Campaign Name & Marketplace. Bids, budgets and minimums switch to that marketplace's currency, and new campaigns start with sensible local defaults.

20 marketplaces are supported. The table shows a selection.

Step 2

Add your products

First choose your Account Type. Seller Central campaigns advertise by SKU, so each line needs the ASIN and your SKU. Vendor Central campaigns advertise by ASIN only.

Then paste one product per line in the Products box:

ASIN,SKU,Group
B01K28121U,MY-SKU-001,Insulated32
B09EXAMPLE2,MY-SKU-002,Kids
  • ASIN (required): the 10-character code starting with B0.
  • SKU (Seller Central): must match your Seller Central SKU exactly, including capitals.
  • Group (optional): a short label used to name each campaign in Single Product mode.

Only include products that are in stock and hold the Buy Box. Ads do not show for products you cannot sell.

Step 3

Pick a campaign structure

SPC · Single Product Campaigns

One campaign per product line. Each gets its own budget and bids, so one product can never eat another's budget.

Names: your campaign name plus the product's Group, else its SKU (Seller) or ASIN (Vendor). With one product the name is used as is.

MPAG · Multi Product Ad Groups

One campaign holding all products. Each ad group can use the campaign's products or its own list.

Best for variations of one product (sizes, colours) that share keywords and a budget.

Starting out? Use SPC. You see exactly how each product performs and can scale winners without touching the rest.

Step 4

Set budget, bidding and dates

  • Daily budget: the most a campaign spends per day (per product campaign in SPC mode). The suggested value depends on the marketplace, for example $50/day in the US.
  • Campaign state: Enabled campaigns start serving straight after upload. Choose Paused to review them in Amazon first.
  • Start date: when the campaigns may start. Today by default.

Dynamic: down only

Amazon lowers your bid when a sale is unlikely. The safest choice for new campaigns.

Dynamic: up and down

Amazon can raise bids by up to 100% (top of search) when a sale is likely, and lower them when not.

Fixed bids

Your bid is used as entered. Useful for tests where you want full control.

Step 5

Build ad groups and targeting

Every campaign starts with one ad group. Use + Add Ad Group to split targeting, for example one ad group for auto targeting and one for exact keywords, each with its own default bid. The copy button duplicates an ad group. Each ad group can use any mix of the three targeting types:

Auto targeting

Amazon finds the searches and products to show your ad on. You can switch each of the four auto groups on or off and bid on them separately. New ad groups start from the default bid with these ratios:

GroupStarting bidShows your ad for
Close match100% · $0.75Searches closely related to your product, e.g. "insulated water bottle" for an insulated bottle.
Loose match67% · $0.50Searches loosely related to your product, e.g. "gym accessories".
Substitutes53% · $0.40Shoppers viewing products that could replace yours (competitor detail pages).
Complements40% · $0.30Shoppers viewing products that go with yours, e.g. bottle brushes or lids.

Example bids use the US default bid of $0.75.

Keyword targeting

Add keywords one by one with a match type and bid. If a keyword has no bid, the ad group default bid is used.

  • Exact: the search must match your keyword (plus close variants). Most control, usually the best ACoS.
  • Phrase: the search must contain your phrase in order, e.g. "water bottle" matches "steel water bottle 1l".
  • Broad: the search can contain the words in any order or related terms. Widest reach, least control.

Product targeting

List competitor or complementary ASINs, one per line, with one bid for all of them. Your ad can appear on those product pages.

Step 6

Add negatives

Negatives stop your ads from showing on searches or products that will not convert. You can add them at two levels:

  • Ad group negatives (inside each ad group, under "Negative Keywords & ASINs") only affect that ad group.
  • Campaign-level negatives apply to every ad group in the campaign.

For negative keywords, tick Negative Exact to block only that exact search, Negative Phrase to block every search containing it, or both. Negative ASINs stop your ad from showing on those product pages.

cheap
free
used

Start with obvious mismatches (cheap, free, used, a competitor brand you do not want). Add more after two weeks from your search term report, or let the Trioperspective audit find them for you.

Step 7

Set placement adjustments (optional)

Increase bids for a placement by a percentage, from 0 to 900%. For example, a $1.00 bid with Top of Search: 50%can bid up to $1.50 for the first row of search results. Leave a placement at 0 to use your normal bid there.

  • Top of Search: the first row of search results. Usually the highest conversion rate.
  • Rest of Search: all other search result positions.
  • Product Pages: detail pages and other placements off the search results.

Step 8

Preview and download

Open the Preview tab to see every row exactly as Amazon will receive it: campaigns, ad groups, product ads, targets, negatives and placement adjustments. Fix anything that looks wrong before downloading.

Click Download .xlsx. You need to be signed in, and each download uses 1 credit. The file is built first, so if something is wrong with your campaigns you are not charged.

  • Save config downloads your setup as a file you can load later with Load config.
  • History keeps named snapshots of your campaigns in this browser.
  • Your current work is also saved automatically in this browser, so a reload or sign-in never loses it.

Step 9

Upload the file to Amazon Ads

  1. Sign in to the Amazon Ads console for the right marketplace.
  2. Go to Sponsored ads > Bulk operations.
  3. Under Upload, choose the downloaded file and upload it. Do not edit or rename its sheet.
  4. Wait for processing (usually a few minutes), then open the upload history and check the results file.
  5. Every row should show as successful. If some rows failed, the results file says why: fix them in the generator, and upload only the fixed campaigns again.

Uploading the same file twice creates the campaigns twice. If you need to retry, upload only the campaigns that failed.

Launch recipe: a new product in three campaigns

A proven starting point for a product with no ad history. Build all three in one file:

Discovery (auto)

SPC · auto targeting, all four groups on · Dynamic down only · small budget.

Finds the searches that convert.

Exact keywords

SPC · keyword targeting, 5 to 15 exact keywords you know convert · bid slightly above default.

Wins the searches that matter most.

Competitor ASINs

SPC · product targeting on 5 to 10 competitor ASINs with weaker listings.

Takes sales from product pages.

After two to four weeks, run a Trioperspective audit on your bulk file and search term report: it lists the search terms to move into exact match, the ones to add as negatives, and bids to change.

Common mistakes to avoid

  • SKUs that do not match Seller Central exactly. The product ad row fails.
  • Missing or mistyped ASINs (they are 10 characters and start with B0 for most products).
  • Reusing a campaign name that already exists in your account. Give every new campaign a unique name.
  • Bids below the marketplace minimum, or budgets that are too small for the number of products in one campaign.
  • Uploading to the wrong marketplace. The file must be uploaded in the Ads console of the marketplace you chose.
  • Editing the downloaded file by hand and breaking the column headers.

Questions

Does it support Sponsored Brands or Display?

Not yet. The generator creates Sponsored Products campaigns, which drive most Amazon ad sales.

Can I edit existing campaigns with it?

No. Every row is a "Create" row, so the file builds new campaigns. Change existing campaigns in the Ads console or with Amazon's own bulk file.

Do I pay if the download fails?

No. The file is built before the credit is taken, and a failed build is never charged.

Where are my campaigns stored?

In your browser only, until you download. Nothing you build is sent to our servers except when you download, to create the file.

Ready to build your campaigns?

Free to build and preview. 1 credit per download.
